Asheville Christmas

As a visitors to the Biltmore House were greeted with a breathtaking display of millions of lights. The house was adorned with a large Christmas tree as well as smaller ones, and visitors could walk among them while children played and ran around. On the lawn, paper bags lit the way.

During the Christmas season, the Biltmore House welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors. Every room is decorated with Christmas trees, garlands, twinkling lights, and lit fireplaces. One can imagine George and Edith Vanderbilt greeting their guests, all dressed up in black tie and beaded gowns, sitting down to a ten-course meal and singing Christmas Carols around the grand piano. It feels like a time of decadence from a long-gone era that is alive throughout the house. One can almost hear the ghosts of the people who once lived and walked the halls.
