Two Eastern Tiger Swallowtails and a Pipevine Swallowtail butterflies flutter from flower to flower. the eastern Tiger Swallowtail is native to North America, and most familiar butterflies in the eastern United States. Females being the larger sex. The Pipevine Swallowtail or Blue Swallowtail is found in North America and Central America. These butterflies are black with iridescent blue hind wings, and found in different habitats like the Eastern Tiger swallowtail, but commonly found in forests.
Butterflies are part of the class of insects, having large, often brightly colored wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight. Butterfly fossils date to the mid Eocene epoch, 40�50 million years ago.
