Eastatoe Falls is located on private property outside the town of Rosman North Carolina on hwy 178, and the owners of this property do not mind sharing their backyard with visitors. This waterfall is named after the Carolina parakeet extinct in 1918, the last surviving bird lived in captivity near the falls, but it's name lives on. The Eastatoe is the Cherokee word for the Carolina parakeet.
It may not look it, but Eastatoe Falls is raging, and not a dry place to be found, even on me. The water spray keeped me busy cleaning and protecting my lens!
