Description
The Great White Egret grace in nature becomes apparent during mating season displays it plumage to attract females after he builds a nest as well. Often confused with the Snowy Egret, the Great White Egret lores turn lime green during a breeding season. The Great White Egret is the largest with a height 36-40 inches and a wingspan 50 inches.
Photographed in The Audubon Swamp Garden on sixty acres of black-water cypress and tupelo swamp on South Carolina's Magnolia Plantation.
