Description
John Earle, who established the 1st grist mill in 1789. The mill was renamed Rhett’s Mill and was located on Rhett’s Mill Pond, now called Highland Lake. Highland Inn and Resort owns what is now called Lower Millhouse. You can stay right over the mill and waterfall. Highlands Lake is privately owned resort in the town of Flat Rock, North Carolina by the Grup.
There is so much to do and explore in this area of Western North Carolina from Flat Rock Playhouse, and Carl Sandburg Home National Historic site.
