Lake Lure in Western North Carolina has become a popular destination for tourist and locals. This small town nestled between the Blue Ridge mountains offers so much to do such as boating, kayaking, hiking, swimming, or just visiting the shops. Fall is a poplar time to visit, as well as Spring, and Summer.
Lake Lure is well know for the film Dirty Dancing, and a festival held in late September honoring the movie, recreating the dances, and the famous lift competition in the lake.
