In 1934 the Great Smoky Mountain National Park was established. Cades Cove, as part of it, is located in Tennessee at the western end of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park on Laurel Creek Road. This special place, at the turn of the century, was home to more than 125 families. Within this community were three churches as well as a grist mill.
Cades Cove is home to a variety of wildlife. Experience the eleven mile asphalt loop that was once a two lane gravel road.
Hyatt Lane takes the visitor back to the west end of Cades Cove where you can start the loop all over. �Morning at Cades Cove� was photographed along this road as the morning mist burns off, and clouds roll in, giving a pastel look to the image.
