John Oliver cabin built circa 1822 in the fog and mist among the flowering dogwood during Spring.
Life was hard for he first permanent European settlers in Cades Cove. John Oliver and his wife Lucretia Frazier "struggled through the winter and subsisting on dried pumpkin given to them by friendly Cherokees."
