Description
As a photographer you get to know your subject, I have known #67 for years, and the first elk I truly loved. The last day I saw him and spent time photographing him was September 28, 2104. I will miss the sound of his bugle, and the sparkle in his eyes.
During Spring I started looking for him asking around Cataloochee Valley. Well this passed Monday #67 was euthanized due to skin lesions and necrosis. My heart is is heavy right now, but I will one day see you again my friend!

Carol, I am so sad after reading about this beautiful animal, I understand your loss...f/l
Carol Montoya replied:
Thank you for you kind words Donna. I was up at Cataloochee last night and felt his loss. Every male out there fell short compared to him, #67.
