Description
A snowy egret wins the battle showing off its wings in a pose!
In the tidal pool along and around boulders at Sebastian Inlet snowy egrets congregate along with other salt waterfowl for an easy meal.
"Among the most elegant of the herons, the slender Snowy Egret sets off immaculate white plumage with black legs and brilliant yellow feet. Those feet seem to play a role in stirring up or herding small aquatic animals as the egret forages. Breeding Snowy Egrets grow filmy, curving plumes that once fetched astronomical prices in the fashion industry, endangering the species. Early conservationists rallied to protect egrets by the early twentieth century, and this species is once again a common sight in shallow coastal wetlands." https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Snowy_Egret/id

Carol: This is our first visit to our art. Absolutely AMAZING !!! WE could not help noticing you live in one of our most favorite cities to visit. We have visited Asheville several times and toured the Biltmore 4 times. Now back to your Stunningly Gorgeous Snowy Egret. Snowies are one of our favorite birds to photograph. This image is one of the very best we have ever seen. Excellent capture at just the right time, clear details of its features plus the hair-like feathers on the top of its head and hanging from its neck truly set this image off along with the wings span. WOW !! WOW !! WOW !! WE love it. It truly gives us great pleasure to L/F this image plus we are now "following" you. Bill & Deb Hayes
