Description
Winter's Frozen Landscape Big Creek
Big Creek Trail in the Smoky Mountains National Park is a great place to hike following an old railroad grade. The Crestmont logging company used to haul lumber out of the mountains during the 1900's during the logging boom. The trail was improved in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corp which converted for hiking or riding horses only, so no pet allowed here along the trail. From the start of the trail head, it's two miles up the easy grade trail on the right, you will first pass Midnight Hole. You will travel another half mile to Mouse Creek Falls on your left will be a horse hitch.
