Description
Light Hits Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and The Peanut Butter Shrub
Lake Lure North, Carolina's Flowering Bridge has a group of Peanut Butter trees/shrubs. When the leaves are bruised they give off an odor of peanut butter, hence its nickname. The shrub flowers are white and pink in late summer and early fall here in the mountains of North Carolina. The shrub attracts an abundance of eastern swallowtail, and pipevine butterflies flock to this shrub.
