Why Said The Juvenile White Ibis
Juvenile White Ibis, is a funny bird with amazing facial expressions, in my opinion.
Juveniles (fall through winter) are brown above and white below with a streaky brown neck. The legs and bill of juveniles are orange-pink. Immatures (first summer birds) are splotchy brown and white above as they molt into adult plumage.
The White Ibis lives year round in Florida and found throughout the state.
The American White Ibis is a funny looking bird with its red bill and legs, to light blue eyes. Often found in the grass areas digging for insects, and well as fishing for prey along the shoreline. They can be found from coastal North Carolina down to Florida and the Gulf Coast states. The American white ibis can be found throughout the enter state of Florida.
Here an American white ibis is waiting for a handout from the fisherman or looking for small fish as the tide goes out in the break pools. Sebastian Inlet is...
My photography has become an evolution of melding images into art and allowing my artistic side to fly. Each image has its own life and story to tell. So come explore with me the world of art through my photography. I was born and grew up in Miami Florida loving nature. In 2007, I took up a small digital camera while traveling North America with my husband Frank, our dog Gwen, and our cat Psycho. We finally settled in Western North Carolina loving the mountains. As a painter life moved me in a different direction and windows opened. I have always laid out my composition before me. I have worked in all mediums at one time or another, but watercolor and pastel were my modes of choice. During my travels, photography became a...

Carol If ever a "cock of the head" said "Why!" this is IT!! Such a simple thing, speaking volumes and caught by you. It's a great pix for lots of other reasons too -- absolutely great lighting on him! And his coloration is great (he did that not you, but you saw it and captured it for us) -- and the totally dark and out of fucus background only enhanced his great look. Fabulous!!
Carol Montoya replied:
Thank you, Ken for the wonderful comment!
