Description
Henry Morrison Flagler built the present day Presbyterian Church of St. Augustine in memory of his daughter, Jenny Louise Benedict, in 1890.
Originally, First Presbyterian Church of St. Augustine was founded in 1824.The bell in the east tower and the five coquina pillars surrounding the church are all original to the old First Church building which was built of coquina in 1926. The coquina was quarried on Anastasia Island, and took a few years to complete.
